Presented by the Bauhinia Project in collaboration with the Oakland Asian Branch Library and Civic Design Studio, "Hong Kong! Hong Kong!" is a series of poetry installations at a popup gallery space in Old Oakland. This exhibit is a poetry of witness. It gives emotional content to Hong Kong's protests for those watching it from abroad, so that they can understand events from the inside, from an embodied experience. The installations bring the language of Hong Kong people's struggles, dreams, and "suicide" notes into a three-dimensional and embodied space through fabrics, glass, lamps, curtains, and light projections. They also include poems translated by a Korean poet who wishes to remain anonymous, and photography by Hong Kong photographer Ping.

"Hong Kong! Hong Kong!" is supported and sponsored by Friends of the Oakland Public Library, and is endorsed by the following organizations:

Chinese Democratic Education Foundation
Coalition for Self-Determination at Berkeley Law
Hong Kong Affairs Association of Berkeley
Northern California Hong Kong Club, San Francisco
